Underwater Magic
Join photographer Michal Štros as he takes you in his book “Underwater Magic” on a journey into the magical underwater world of tiny benthic creatures in the Philippines and Indonesia.
This 168-page hardcover book contains 140 impressive underwater photographs printed on art-glossy paper (25 x 30 cm or 10 x 12 inches). The photos include original images, as well as artistically processed underwater images created using graphics editors such as fractals and collages. The book is divided into five chapters: The largest chapter, ‘Macro‘, contains 15 subsections, each focusing on a specific subject. The other chapters are ‘Underwater Art‘, ‘Vintage Lenses‘ and ‘Natural Textures‘. The fifth chapter, ‘Magic Tools‘, covers the use of magic tubes and creative filters. An extensive Appendix provides details of the equipment and techniques used to create the images. The text is bilingual, in English and Czech. Three of the photographs featured in this book won awards in the prestigious Ocean Art underwater photography contests in 2020, 2021 and 2025.
